The Strategic Planning Process: Implementation
Madison Green
University of Arizona Global Campus
HCA:340 Managing in Health & Human Services
Professor LaPorte
12-4-23
Part 1:
Mission Statement
St. Mary’s Health Center provides low-cost health-screening tools, promote healthy activities in
its patrons, and offers low cost-efficient programs like exercise and support groups to encourage
positive lifestyles.
Vision Statement
St. Mary’s Health Center aims to provide cost effective healthcare for patients while creating a
healthy environment. St. Mary’s is dedicated to promoting healthier lifestyle choices for real
wellness. St. Mary’s will be recognized as one of the best in our community and top leaders in
the industry towards affordable and preventative care.
Data Element
Some data elements that should be collected to identify which patients would benefit from this
program are family, nutrition, diet, and family. Family history is important because it can help
identify individuals with a genetic link and a higher change of having common disorders.
Lifestyle choices are closely related to diet planning. Individual health is important because it
has a direct coorelation to blood pressure, exercising, and vaccinations. All of these elements are
important because they all have an impact on St. Mary’s Regional Health Center’s mission and
vision.
Part 2:
Leadership Type
St Mary’s Regional Health Center leadership strategy involves incorporating the growth strategy
through diversification. Diversification involves adding new products and services to help extend
a company’s capabilities for growth, which would help strengthen and benefit the community
(Baack, 2020). One advantage of diversification is to help expand St. Mary’s footprint by
allowing multiple streams of revenue through the different programs such as the low-fee
programs to engage individual and low-cost health screenings, and immunization program.
Another advantage of using diversification is that it attracts new customers and investors.
Strengthening the range of care to the public can result in an increased loyalty to the
organization. One con about the diversification strategy is that it incurs costs. For example,
businesses often need to build or buy new resources and develop new capabilities that require
specific training that may require hiring more people to get the job done. Second, diversification
may cause businesses to direct resources and managerial attention away from their core business
areas. This could lead the healthcare center to collapse (Mawdsley, 2019).
Employees Roles and Qualifications
Hiring two new employees would greatly benefit St. Mary’s Regional Health Center’s program
strategies. The first employee would be hired as a financial advisor. This person would provide
consulting and advice, and help reduce expense costs, eliminate debt, and corporate low-cost
development projects to help generate more revenue. Specific requirements that the financial
advisor needs to obtain is a bachelor’s degree in finance and a certification in financial planner or
a charted financial analyst. The second employee would be employed as a nutritionist. A
nutritionist would help evaluate patients’ dietary requirements, recommendations for exercise,

Regression; choosing among models. Apollo Hospital specializes in outpatient surgeries for relatively minor procedures. Apollo is a nonprofit institution and places great emphasis on controlling costs in order to provide services to the community in an efficient manner.
Apollo’s CFO, Julie Chen, has been concerned of late about the hospital’s consumption of medical supplies. To better understand the behavior of this cost, Julie consults with Rhett Bratt, the person responsible for Apollo’s cost system. After some discussion, Julie and Rhett conclude that there are two potential cost drivers for the hospital’s medical supplies costs. The first driver is the total number of procedures performed. The second is the number of patient-hours generated by Apollo. Julie and Rhett view the latter as a potentially better cost driver because the hospital does perform a variety of procedures, some more complex than others.
Rhett provides the following data relating to the past year to Julie.…
