Describe 3 effects of estrogen on the body. Three effects of estrogen on the body controls the development of 1. female sexual characteristics, including widening the pelvis, 2. Helps the development of the egg into oocyte and 3. enlarging the breasts (Saladin, 2018) . 2. Describe 3 effects of testosterone on the body. Three effects on testosterone on the body are 1. Develop male characteristics such as voice, body hair and muscle mass, 2. Production of sperms and 3. Regulate sex drive (Saladin 2018). 3. Predict the consequences of not having a menses due to anovulation. Include the effect on the endometrial lining. The consequences of not having a menses due to anovulation can result in infertility, breakthrough bleeding at varying intervals due to insufficient hormone to support a thickened endothelium, and heavy and prolonged menstrual flow due to lack of progesterone . On the endometrial lining, effects of anovulation include the lining of your uterus, or endometrium, becomes disordered and unstable and it begins to randomly shed. This results in bleeding that is not in a regular pattern (Rebar, 2018). 4. Why was a prolactin level checked? Name 2 symptoms a patient with a high prolactin level Prolactin levels were checked to find the cause of a woman's menstrual irregularities and/or infertility. High prolactin may result in 1. Lower libido 2. Infertility (Thapa & Bhusal, 2022). 5. Research to discover, and list, 2 other problems a person with polycystic ovarian syndrome may have.
