Week 6 Discussion Board
Watch the TED Talk -- Good news, bad news, who is to say!
(Links to an external site.)
below. Based on what you learned from previous readings, how could this concept or way of thinking be
applied to today's business environment? Provide an example in which this way of thinking would have yielded a different outcome. What emotions would be tapped into? Would the message be direct or indirect? What is the message that you took away from his speech?
Comment on two (2) peer posts and provide insight into why you do or do not agree with their perspective.
I agree with this way of thinking. Actually, this is my way of thinking. I have been
through many things in my life, and with my daughter being born with a heart defect and
undergoing three open-heart surgeries by the time she was 3.5 years old, I look at the entire
world from a different perspective. I see my small child who has been through so much and no
longer sweats the little things. I look at the struggles put before me and look at them as either a
test or a testimony. They could be good, bad, or undecided. Once I changed my way of thinking,
things around me also changed. People around me have noticed my change and have either
removed themselves from me or have adapted and made changes themselves. I think this
message was straightforward in showing you that your way of thinking can make a difference in
how your life goes. Growing up early in adulthood, I was always a positive person, but if you
crossed me, I could write you off in a heartbeat and never look back. Now I observe and act
accordingly. I changed my way of thinking and learned that sometimes people could make
mistakes, and those mistakes can be learning lessons, but they are a lesson for everyone
involved, not just the person making a mistake. In the business world, this way of thinking could also be beneficial. Looking at the
situation and making sure that you have the whole picture before deciding is critical. Having all
the facts and figures to look to the future and determine that it will be suitable for the company in
the long run. When looking at a problematic situation in the business world, you can take it as
something that will negatively affect the company, or you could look at it as “How will this
become a positive experience for the company?” It's all about how you look at the picture.

Discussion:
Establishing a sustainable services marketing strategy is key for businesses. This can be done by offering services that have high value proposition, high quality, and benefit the environment (Wirtz & Lovelock, 2018). Businesses must ensure that it is not only a solid plan for the short term, but that it is a plan that will continue to grow with the company and be beneficial in the long term. As companies grow their marketing strategy might change, but there are essential questions that it should always be able to answer. This includes, why are you doing what you are doing? What is the purpose of the company and what they are selling? What are the goals it wants to achieve? How can it achieve those? How are they…
