Introduction Efficacious leadership styles are critical in the healthcare industry, impacting patient care quality, and studies have shown that transformational leadership, with its ability to inspire and motivate teams, leads to higher job satisfaction, better patient outcomes, and reduced staff turnover rates, making it the most effective style for healthcare leaders. A. Key Points 1. What is leadership and how is it important in healthcare? 2. What are the different leadership style types, and what do they help with? 3. What is the critical role of leadership in the healthcare industry? 4. What are the benefits of investing in a leadership development program? II. Literature Review 1. With transformational leadership, employees showed higher job satisfaction and trust and lower intentions to quit the workplace. a. According to Sfantou et al. (2017), transformational leadership style is characterized by creating relationships and motivation among staff members. Transformational leaders typically have the ability to inspire confidence, staff respect and they communicate loyalty
3 through a shared vision, resulting in increased productivity, strengthen employee morale, and job satisfaction (p.1). 2. The types of leadership styles and their outcome on patients. a. Autocratic i. This style is characterized by decision-making and does not allow input from other employees. It is vital for patients who may need clear and concise instructions. b. Transformational i. Creates a shared vision for the future and inspires people to achieve a common goal. Patience is essential because it builds trust and rapport, creating a positive and healing environment. c. Transactional i. Clear expectations, providing rewards for good performance and initiates consequences for a bad performance, and initiating consequences for a bad performance. It is essential for patients since it ensures they get the care they need and deserve. d. Laissez-faire

It is crucial with patients when the employee is motivated and highly skilled and can determine the conventional management and care for the patient. e. Servant i. It focuses on the needs and wants of others before the employees. It is important for patients since it can help create a more compassionate and caring environment. f. Relationship-oriented i. This leadership style centers on creating a constructive work environment and building relationships. It can help patients feel more cared for and comfortable by the person giving the care. g. Task-oriented i. This style primarily focuses on getting the job done. This is helpful for patients who may need a specific treatment plan. 3. The importance of leadership development programs in healthcare facilities. a. According to Seidman (2020), Leadership programmes for healthcare professionals can focus on a wide range of topics, including foundational knowledge (eg, healthcare economics, regulatory and compliance issues),
