2 PRODUCT “healthy” carob (chocolate substitute) bars PERSONA Savannah , 37 PLACE CHANGES IN THE MARKETPLACE Change in the marketplace: One recent change in the marketplace involving purchasing habits would have to be curbside pickup or Instacart. Curbside pickup allows you to order online and pickup without going in the store, Instacart works the exact same way with drop offs at your front door, as an additional option. This change came into effect because of the recent COVID19 pandemic. How the change addresses the distribution of products to my persona: This type of online shopping is a more indirect distribution channel which makes it easier for customers to see alike products. Specifically, for those who are working moms who don't have the time to retail shop but still prefer retail goods. This change provides customers with the options to order online, bypass shipping and get their products without even leaving the comfort of their home or vehicle. DISTRIBUTION CHANNEL Potential distribution channel and why it is appropriate for my product and persona: I would recommend a dual distribution channel for "healthy” carob (chocolate substitute) bars. Dual distribution will allow us to use both direct and indirect channels to distribute the product. Given our persona, we are looking for easier shopping methods for parents with children. This will allow us to utilize things like Instacart to distribute the product. It also allows us to utilize one of the fastest growing marketing communication channels, social media, to build a brand name and following for our chocolate. Statistical data have shown that the sale of chocolate bars across social media has increased revenue.
