Benefits Of A College Fair

The second thing that i gained from the fair was that I have a chance find out a new place accepting volunteers. It is the Public Health Department at Madera . It is a good opportunities for me to get involved in the community and gain more experiences for my future career. Besides that, i also learned about "Fresno Diabetes Collaborative", they have meeting every month in Clovis area. They are current collaborative with so many different system such as Adventist Health, Anthern Blue Cross, Valley Children's Hospital, etc. Each month they are going to gathering together and working on the same project about Diabetes, helping each other in career and sharing

In the last decade, students and parents alike have begun to question the effectiveness of receiving a college education. Stories of students graduating college with outstanding student loans, being unable to find a job, or feeling overqualified for a position continually increase. In the same manner, the number of students apprehensive about refraining from entering the workforce for an additional four years while simultaneously spending thousands of dollars for an education that in the end may not assure them a job with an adequate income, increases. The issue then is to determine whether or not the cost of college is worth the outcome.

On January 26, I had the opportunity to attend The Major Fair, an event in which the academic departments of FSU showcased their programs and gave information about various majors. Originally, I believed that I would not benefit from attending this event, but my perspective has changed. Although attending this event was mandatory for all students who enrolled in Freshman Seminar 2, The Major Fair allowed me to gain insight into the many majors and minors offered at this university. By the time I left the event, I received information that related to my intended major, which is chemistry, and the other programs that I found interesting and beneficial, which are the honors program and the 3+2 dual program.

I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to have attended Lone Star College-CyFair. When I arrived, I was not sure what to expect. I think I was quite nervous, because I really did not have a strong sense of direction. But I believed in myself, and the thing that amazed me right away was how much the wonderful people at Lone Star believed in me, too. My first points of contact in admissions and administration were wonderful, and really set a tone.

Overall, college has introduced me to new perspectives of knowledge while guiding me more proximate to my desired career path, mechanical engineering. For example, NCAT is a widely known Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) for its engineering and sciences programs and research. The faculty and professors work with students to assure them of prosperity as do the peers. The required curriculum for my major has introduced me to various skills and people that I can have consequential connections with. This exposure can make it easier for me when its time to make my way into the professional world of business. In addition, this college was within the distance and price range for my parents and me. Career fair/college fair. The career fair will include different companies and organizations from the community. The college fair will include different colleges and universities along with scholarships. Also seniors and juniors will also be able to go over college and career questions with their counselor.

There are many choices and paths to choose when the time comes to attend college however, a question to ask is, is it worth it? If decided to attend college, the following decision to be made revolves around an area of study one would like to pursue and the topic of study that will be available for them. Though many can further their education in different ways, a couple of ways consist of attending a four year college (private/ public) or a community college. Not going to college at all is the other alternative, but is it really a smart idea? Most adults have continuously told young students all through high school to attend college. A student’s chance of economic success in the future can be risen due to a college education. Judith Scott-Clayton, who is an assistant professor of economics and education at Teachers College at Columbia University states, “Individuals with bachelor’s degrees earn about 60 percent more than those with just a high school diploma, who in turn earn about 40 percent more than high school dropouts.” Students who seek higher education, are more likely to experience a better future and a better life. The cost of going to college may seem overwhelming at times however, the experiences and education obtained throughout college is priceless in regards to the way one interacts with others on a global basis, has a stronger job stability, and has better employment benefits.

There are many things for you to enjoy and have a fun experience at college. You can meet new people there, and become friends. You can also get involved in sports. For example, you can play baseball/softball, football, tennis, cross-country, and volleyball. You will get to know the players you play with maybe you will have the same classes as them or same hobbies. You can also have a fun experience by joining clubs or organizations with people who share your interests. Some colleges have different clubs/organizations for almost anyone. Some clubs may include art club, criminal justice club, math club, rad tech club, student government association, and Latin American Club. You can also meet people in the clubs/organizations. Finally, community college is the most suitable choice for low-income students. Students can afford a community college thanks to the cheaper classes offered by those institution every year. Moreover, community college provides many scholarship that allow students to get some help; for instance, honors , freshman , GPA, single mother, military, and much more scholarships. Those scholarship and affordable institution fee allow students to save their money to pay for the house-hold bills, rent, groceries while studying and being in college.

Students often wonder what career path they will choose in the future to support their family and have a brighter future. Some students question whether attending college is worth their time, but research suggests that students who study at postsecondary institutions will benefit in the long run. If students want to have a successful future, to be able to support their family, and have a higher income, they will need some sort of higher level education. Going to college can help with unemployment rates and increase the chances of attaining a stable career.
