Pulling into the lush campus, there is this massive white dome-shaped building masked in hexagons. Nearby is a ten-foot-tall yellow rubber duck with a pair of big black shades. Groups of teenagers wearing the same bright colored t-shirts are taking group pictures in front of the massive duck. Starting from the door of the building, an everlasting line of enthusiastic and nervous kids wait with their equally as enthusiastic and nervous parents to go inside for the week that will shape their life. The blazing sun beats down on the stand-still statues. Luckily, adults are moving down the line, supplying people with water to quench their desert-dry throats. Entertaining the impatient statues, young councilors, with outrageous looking hats with …show more content…
Heading out of the auditorium, the upbeat councilors guide the confused campers to the hallway, where they design their nametags. Sitting down at one of the many tables covered in markers, the campers decorate their name tags with as many squiggly lines and dots possible. Once done, it is time to find their dorm room. Parents help drag the top-heavy bags and bedding up as many as several flights of stairs into a compact dorm room. After setting up the new home for the week, it is then time to say goodbye. Teary-eyed parents hug their statue-like teenagers who are waiting for them to leave already. After about five minutes, the parents finally get into their cars, and drive away. The week has officially begun. Having full independence, the campers are left utterly confused because they do not know what to do without parental guidance. Being teenagers, they decide to go to the camp store, with walls lined with items. Shelves are full of sweatpants, shirts, and jackets; counters are covered in water bottles, bags, more t-shirts, bandanas, and much more; and baskets are filled with flashlights, pens, keychains, and stickers. What seems like endless items to buy fills the teenagers with happiness. After twenty minutes of walking back and forth through the narrow room, most teenagers come out with just one shirt. It is now getting close to the opening ceremony. The campers from the store walk down

When I was younger I had a babysitter who was in high school. I looked up to her so much and wanted to be a big girl like her and go to high school. Little did I know that when I got that old I would want to be that little girl again. With senior year beginning I’ve been getting hounded with college emails and universities calling to invite me to visit. Having to make the decision of where I want to go to college, what I want to study, and how I’m gonna make all that happen while still being in high school and getting treated like a child is a bit overwhelming. I never realized how overwhelming and stressful senior year would be.

When I arrived here at college I was extremely disappointed with the selection of food here in the cafeteria. I frequently found myself eating only hamburgers and pizza over and over again, simply because I did not like the other choices. About four months into the school year I had do go to the doctor for a virus and when the nurse weighed me I was a little surprised by what I saw. I had gained a little over ten pounds, close enough to what some refer to as the “Freshman 15.” It is a common fear among college students that they are going to gain fifteen pounds during the course of adjusting to college life. However experts have stated that the idea of the so called “Freshman 15,” is not that accurate. Every college student is obviously

"Don 't worry," Rachel and Ben said simultaneously, "It 's only like a four to five hour hike, unless you get lost." Rachel and Ben were my coaches while I was at camp. I could call them counselors, but they weren 't exactly counselors to me, more like second parents, or coaches. Little did I know, this "four or five hour hike" would be one of the worst experiences of my life.
My interest for the Attorney Advisor position with the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) arises from my longstanding commitment to constantly improve myself. I have always enjoyed legal research, writing, and the complexities of intellectual property. I have no doubt that my enthusiasm to research, my eagerness to learn, and my strong ability to communicate clearly, work efficiently, accurately, and quickly, will make me an invaluable asset to the USPTO. I believe these traits combined with my unique skillset, developed as a result of experiences working for the Arizona Diamondbacks of Major League Baseball (Diamondbacks), Nike Inc. (Nike), and the Arizona Attorney General’s Office, Liability Management Department (AG Office)
