3.0 Research methodology
Methodology refers to a system of methods used in a particular area of study or activity. It is not a formula but a set of practices which can be used to conduct a research approach, research method, questionnaire design, sample size, primary research, secondary data, and others. For the purpose of doing methodology and explain about the research flow and also the lastly most important things which is to showed the capability of the research flows.
3.1 Research Approach
Research approach towards the plans and where the procedures towards the research that span the process from the broad assumptions to the detailed methods of the data collection, analysis and the interpretation. Research Approach has two kinds of sorts
This article analyzed the positive experiences of twelve individuals who had visible differences (Egan et al 2011, p. 739). This study discovered four main elements that helped people to interpret their related experiences in a positive way. Generally, it can be seen that the authors applied interpretive social science (Neuman 2006, p. 87) to produce this study to capture participants’ experiences and feelings. There are some advantages that can be yielded by utilizing this perspective. Firstly, the authors were able to understand individuals’ different social lives. The complex social factors can be extracted to interpret participants’ feelings and emotions from their personal experiences. It was
The research process is a systematic approach that is carried out with a particular aim or purpose. However, in order to come up to a conclusion based on the objective of the research, the researchers collect a multitude of information that can be analyzed. This is a normal course of action that is applied to all research and evaluation projects, despite of the fact that research method involves a scientific method of inquiry or an evaluation based research or action research.
The article of focus for the purposes of this task is "Influence of perceived co-worker involvement and supervisory support on job satisfaction." (Okediji, Etuk, & Nnedum, 2011) The authors tested hypotheses charting the relationship among several factors that contribute to job satisfaction. The participants of the study were employees of a brewery and were selected at random. There were equal numbers of males and females. The ages of participants spanned ages 18 40. The empirical study confirmed both the hypotheses of the researchers regarding job satisfaction, co-worker involvement, and supervisory involvement during the working day. The authors explain, "Job satisfaction is more simply conceived of as the response of an individual to the condition of work, as these perceptions are shaped by objective differences in work conditions and different interpretations of the conditions." (Okediji, Etuk, & Nnedum, 2011)
Research is important both in scientific and nonscientific fields. In our life new problems, events, phenomena and processes occur every day. Practically implementable solutions and suggestions are required for tackling new problems that arise. Scientists have to undertake research on them and find their causes, solutions, explanations and applications. Precisely, research assists us to understand nature
The issue of quantitative and qualitative research approach has been discussed widely nowadays. Some people believe quantitative research approach is trustworthy than qualitative research approach. This essay will discuss the features of quantitative and qualitative research, and the reason why people believe quantitative research approach is trustworthy than qualitative research approach.
One of the questions that an organization must decide before conducting research is which research approach will be most appropriate. The approach chosen will depend on the research question and the type of information is seeking. There are three general research approaches; descriptive, exploratory and causal (Kolb, 2008).
The methodology includes questionnaire, interviews, surveys and other research techniques and could include both present and past information. There are so many types of methods and technique in market to do research for a product but in our project we all decided to do research by quantitative method because by quantitative method
Methodology of a study according to intellectuals is the general account of a study activity (Clarke R.J. 2005). That is a method will define or stipulate the several means to be used during the course of the research, the study model to be used in a research development and research strategy that is the scheme applied in gathering the research facts, sampling means, notions to be used, down to the information enquiry tactic (Clarke R.J. 2005, P: 34). Once more, strategy is '...the route in which an analyst behaviours research.
In doing the research, the methodology must be appropriate so that the analysis findings could reach the objective. Research methodology proposed one procedure in order way to be follow to answer all the questions in the research that want to be made. Quoted by Denzin and Lincoln (1994), methodology is a process that related with research objective and data. In the others word, it is early research planning that include the research scope, data collection method, data collection process and data analysis method. For Ranjit (2005), methodology is one of crucial part in research, in order to ensure the research can be done in the systematic way Overall, this chapter will discuss on the research frame and the methodologies used in order to meet the research objectives. Research process been divided into three main parts there are preliminary research part, data collection and last one data analysis.
To carry out management research, methods which refers to specific techniques for collecting and analysing data and particularly methodology which means the reason for doing research and design process of selecting methods are crucial considerations (King &
This assignment emphasizes on Research Methods used in Management industry as mentioned in the title of this module. Research has become a very integral part of today’s industry, no matter in which area one wants to start the business or service, research has to be involved. So, the purpose of this module is to identify the research methods and techniques, and other related issues. The assignment is divided in three parts which illustrates the three learning outcomes of the module.
There is always this kind of confusion between research methods and research methodology. According to Kothari (2004), research methodology refers to the systematic way of resolving the research problem. It comes at the top of research design hierarchy. It involves the logic of how a research is conducted in a scientific perspective. It encompasses all the steps that are taken by the researcher in studying the problem and the logic behind them. It is very important to understand which methods and techniques are relevant and essential to solve the problem under study. Moreover, the researcher needs to understand the assumptions and the criteria behind choosing research methods and techniques. Therefore, the overall research
To carry out the research, it goes through different process like research philosophy, research design, research approach as shown in fig 1:1
The meaning might sound rather profound, however, the author further explained that the basic meaning of the definition is precisely the exact thing every researcher is doing when he or she is conducting a research and that is the will to develop knowledge in a particular field. (Easterby-Smith, et al. (2002)) , identifies three reasons on why there is significance on understanding philosophies in reference to research methodology.
Methodology is a way to systematically solve the research problems. It explains the various steps that are generally adopted by a researcher in studying the research problem with logic behind them.
