Now that we have identified the outcome evaluation design we will need to determine the best method of capturing program data. Accurate program data is essential to establish program effectiveness and convey credibility of study findings. Once we have captured this data, our group will have to organize and present it in a manner that is easily understood by various groups of stakeholders with diverse educational backgrounds and agendas. An important step in data collection is identifying which variables are dependent and which are independent. A dependent variable is subject to change due to the influence of an independent variable. Our group has identified some of the independent and dependent variables associated with our program intervention which are outlined in the table below. As shown in the table, demographic factors are independent variables as they are not subject to change but should be taken into account during data collection. Dependent variables such as disease attitude and willingness to participate in diabetic testing are dependent variables as they may be affected by the number of brochures distributed or the number of surveys given. Consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables may be effected by the type and quantity distributed and through awareness created by the educational …show more content…
For the purpose of our program we will have to employ each of these methods of data capture. For instance, we would use nominal level measures to capture data regarding sex and ordinal measures to capture how likely a person is to consume more fruits and vegetables after receiving the informational brochure. Since some of our data is being compared at different points in time interval level measures will need to be implemented. Ratio level measures could be useful to capture which interventions; surveys, brochures, and advertising most effected behavioral
The dependent variable is anger management. The dependent variable is operationalized by providing the study group anger control training to help the students control their anger (Gliner, Harmon, & Morgan, 2000).
Going into English 121 you accomplished many different outcomes when doing your work. For example outcome A is when you do an outline for your essay. Your first start with your ideas and you build from your ideas. You come up with a title, next, your intro, your main ideas, and finally your conclusion. After you have everything written down you start to edit your drafts. In writing, doing a outline is common. It helps the writer be organized in the paper and the editing help the reader understand the text better. In English 121, I have done outcome A many of times. For my essay one and two I did outcome A. For essay 1, I planned my paper out. I did my summary first than the other parts of my paper second. I did the same thing for essay two. After I got my papers back, I would edited
A research team leader will randomly select eligible participants and divided them into two equal groups, A and B. Group A pre-intervention and Group B post intervention. There are multiple delivery methods available for collection data such as interview (one-on-one, via telephone or in person), focus groups, and observation. The traditional method paper-and-pencil survey whose results are subsequently entered into a software program will be used as well as an online based collection to reducing the cost of data collection and encouraging voluntary participants. The data will be electronically downloaded directly to an Excel spreadsheet for analysis and minimizing data entry error or bias. There will be four different types
Every company should want to ensure that it produces quality products or services. Verizon field technicians use a checklist to help ensure that they are doing quality work. The checklist reminds the technician what needs to be done at each job. Even with a checklist and process in place it could be better. The mangers need to spend more time in the field ensure quality work is being done.
The new intervention that I would like to implement at Huther Doyle is meditation. Using meditation and mindfulness will help patients be able to center themselves and provide a time for centering in their hectic lives. Normal group sessions are two hours long. When implementing meditation the same length of group time will be necessary for billing purposes. The two hour session will be distributed with the first 30 minutes consisting of meditation and the last hour and a half consisting of discussion. The meditation will be lead by the primary group counselor or myself. The
The researcher will use the population of Longview, Missouri to collect the data for this program evaluation. The current population will be pulled from seven public schools and three private schools. The population will be approximately 4,000 students from public and private schools on the Longview area. The methods that will be used to collect this data will be the use of a survey, focus groups, and historical data collected from local law enforcement and the board of education. The data will be collected pre-program implementation and post implementation for comparison purposes.

This section will provide the rationale of the methods employed and highlight how the study will be performed. The study will examine the population with the sample size identified, data collection method and its analysis will be offered.
This research analysis is meant to measure the effects of this particular program against the goals it set out to accomplish as a means of contributing to subsequent decision making about the program and improving future programming. This applied research study is an evaluation research project of social science that is intended to supply scientifically valid information with which to guide public policy. The goals of this evaluation research are to provide feedback to policy makers in concrete and measurable terms.
Evaluating performance. The performance of candidates selected should be evaluated after six-months of consecutive service. The evaluation should be weighed against the specific goals and objectives designated in the position’s description. (Rhodes, 2013) Any accomplishments or achievements should be clearly identified and measured with their overall
Stakeholders will provide information about funding, sponsoring, enhancing the program. The information will be collected to determine the effectiveness of the outcomes. Most of the information will come from surveys, documents, interviews, and census data. Surveys are not as reliable as interviews, but it is faster and cheaper to understand the people
The variables that were used in this evaluation were: where the referrals came from, type of contact made, and whether the referral transferred to the children’s mental health unit for case management. While in our research class, we learned about independent and dependent variables. Independent variables are variables that affect the dependent variables (McLeod, 2008). Whereas, the dependent variable, is the variable the researcher wants to measure, thus changes to the independent variable affect the dependent variable (McLeod, 2008). Regarding this research evaluation, the independent variables are where the referrals came from and type of contact made. Whereas the dependent variable, is whether the cases transferred to children’s mental health case management. Per the results of my evaluation, where the referrals come from and the type of contact made certainly contributes to if a case will be opened for children’s
The independent variable is the one the investigator expects to cause changes in another variable. The dependent variable is the one the investigator expects to be influenced by the independent variable.
Outcome Assessment: The activity was pretty basic it was to test their knowledge and to recognize the way some animal names were written. The children did answer most of the cards correctly and there were at least two animals they didn’t recognize and learn.
The controlled variables are the participators’ ethnicity, gender, age, and level of education of the adolescences.
