1.1.2. My Personal Development Plan To manage the business, one must have a good experience and relevant qualification. The right qualification one must have is an MBA in order to have the right understanding and knowledge you must require. And experience is one thing that will come after a good investment of time in learning and development (miller, 2011). To achieve my goal of being the Business/Divisional Manager, I need to have an MBA degree which is one thing that I have already started and will surely be completing successfully within three years’ time i.e. end 2015. And I am already having the management experience of 6 years now. With 4 years of experience as a Head of the department, and that too with reputable aviation firm in South Africa. I have already laid the stepping stone to achieve my goal and this Personal Development Plan will surely make me achieve my goal effectively within the decided time span in an organized manner. I have always been a good performer when it comes to my work i.e. Human Capital Business Partner. In 2010 I got an award of being the 2nd best student for the Management Development Programme (MDP) at GIBBS. I am a quick learner and this is the key quality which I think that is required to be successful in your life. My past track record and academics have always been good. A career in social work or human services is similar in the duties and type of work environment. Both of these positions require a desire to help others in many ways. Human Services Assistants may help clients with special needs obtain the services that will help them to develop and improve their situation. Social workers are considered human services workers, only they typically perform more hands-on duties with clients (BLS, 2012a). A career in social and human services is a rewarding choice for those who have a strong desire to help others in need and who have a strong sense of community.

“Professional development should be linked to the vision of the learning community” (Roberts & Pruitt, 2009 p.82). With the budget for the plan established, a detailed professional development that’s aligned with the goals and objectives (school vision) of the plan are defined.
After writing my Professional Development Plan, I thought about a person who had knowledge of my desired position, but who also had experienced things in their life that would translate into their work ethics. After much thought, I turned to Dana Yorko. A family friend and a woman who has had experience in both the corporate world and life. Dana currently works as an General Manager for a company titled American Executive Centers. Our entire interview spent a total of three days, which consisted of exploring her work environment and the duties and responsibilities behind her position at AEC.

Like any individual or team, there are going to be weaknesses. It’s not necessary to focus on them every time, however; it’s important to know what they are so when it comes about, it’s able to be addressed at that time and to avoid an conflicts or disagreements. Robbins & Judge said that, “When managers use collective work situations to enhance morale and teamwork, they must also be able to identify individual efforts. Otherwise, they must weigh the potential losses in productivity from using groups against the possible gains in worker satisfaction” (2013). Our teams weaknesses are being impatience, some might take themselves too seriously, can be critical, some might be slow decision-makers, won’t speak up or be unresponsive while others are over thinkers and don’t want to rick change. Also we fear work criticism, some don’t like surprises or the feeling of being hustled or looked at as too “soft”, and don’t want to lose control. Even though these are weaknesses, we don’t look at it that way because when one style is having these current issues, we can rely on each other’s strengths to come in and make sure everything stays in order.
For many of us, self-improvement has taken on a central role in our lives. Part of the thought behind how we want to live our lives includes looking at the habits and lifestyles of people who have the same kind of values that we want to meet. Employers may also prefer to hire people who will take initiative to grow and develop their skills in years to come. Development involves reviewing and determining the various attributes of an individual as well as the opportunities available for development. In order to enhance the full development of a person, there are certain activities that can be completed toward efficient development. Whether development is to better yourself, better yourself in your current position or get a new position, there are many things to be considered. First you should think about the skills and knowledge required for development based on your professional goal. In some cases you may need to think about a desired position and technological requirements. The requirements specific to your goal will help lead you in the direction that is proper to reach your professional development goals.
Throughout my journey as a human being, I have found values such as respect, love, self-awareness, integrity and responsibility. There are many goals that I hope to achieve in my life. These are goals that I know are vital in my life in order to succeed in my professional career and personal life. I am very optimistic that I will reach these goals with an action plan that I been developing over the course of my interpersonal skills class. My personal mission statement is “to be a man focused on God, and always support my family financially and emotionally. I will do this by finishing my career and find a better job once I complete my bachelor’s degree.” The purpose of this paper is to analyze and develop a plan that

This personal development plan is important for me in that it will allow me to see how I fit in an organization, and actually be able to reflect on my characteristics. My ultimate goal in life is to become an entrepreneur. I’m not sure what industry I want to be in quite yet, but I know my end goal. My dad, since I was little, has drilled it into my mind that I should be in a business where I’m still making money when I’m not physically at work. That notion has stuck with me and I’m trying to take an emergent strategy to get there.
The group members of Learning Team A took a DISC assessment to determine their personality types, strengths and weaknesses, and areas needing improvement. The members of the group are (your name). Along with showing how I the manager can better my ability to lead the team.
I also hope this helps with self-improvement and relationships with family and friends. It so far has also allowed me to see some values that I have that I look for. I believe this plan will help me stay on path with my long term education goals and career goals. This personal development plan will allow me to see where I want to be in 1 year, 5 years, 10 years etc. from now. I believe this plan will also give me clarity as to what I want I want to be doing with my life and will also give me a course of action. This plan will basically tell me what I want, why I want it, and how I plan to get myself there. It tells me what my goals are, my values, my dreams, and what I believe my purpose

Professional development is vital for growing an individual’s capabilities in both the workplace and in one's personal experience. Personal professional development through an employer has the potential to demonstrate that they care about them and provide intrinsic motivation to capable employees which will result in a cheerful and productive followers that will support the leadership (Northhouse, 2013). Human Services Incorporated stated purpose is to transform lives and disciple making. The organization also claims to embrace opportunities for growth (41, 2009). Boud states that to review an experience one must ‘recapture the experience, think about it, mull over and evaluate it’ (Boud et al. 1985) I will follow this piece of advice when constructing my progress statement and development plan, I will also heavily consulted Kolb’s 'Experiential Learning experience as a source of learning and development ' cycle. He states that you go through an experience, then review it, conclude from it and finally plan the next stage. I followed this while making notes of what to include in my progress statement. This way I felt that I was covering all necessary stages in reviewing the work that I had done.
