Each of the following graphs show the relationship between two variables. Determine the Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient (*r*) for each graph.

There **exists no linear relationship** between the variables 1 and 6 because all data points are distributed scatterly. That is, there is no correlation. Hence, the **value of r is 0**.

**Scatter plot for variable 1 Vs variable 5**:

There **exists a negative linear relationship** between the variables 1 and 5 because all data points are lies in the negative direction and forms a straight line towards downside. That is, there is highly negative correlation. Hence, the **value of r is -0.9**.
