Question

Transcribed Image Text:The Ottery Creek Winery produces three kinds of table wine - a blush, a white, and a red. The
winery has 30,000 pounds of grapes available to produce wine this season. A cask of blush requires
360 pounds of grapes, a cask of white requires 375 pounds, and a cask of red requires 410 pounds.
The winery has enough storage space in its aging room to store 67 casks of wine. The winery has
2,200 hours of production capacity, and it requires 14 hours to produce a cask of blush, 10 hours
for white, and 18 hours for red. From records of previous years' sales, the winery knows it will sell
at least twice as much blush as red and at least 1.5 times as much white as blush. The profit for a
cask of blush is $12.100, the profit for white is $8,700, and the profit for a cask of red is $10,500.
The winery wants to know the number of casks of each type of wine to produce to maximize profit.
(Assume that in the production of wine, only whole casks can be produced).
What is the maximum profit the Ottery Creek Winery can obtain?
O 1,420,000
O 677500
O 922,220
O 590,750

Typically, out of the 100 guitars that begin production each month, only 82 percent are considered good enough to sell. The other 18 percent are scrapped due to quality problems that are identified after they have completed the production process. Each guitar sells for $240. Because some of the production process is automated, each guitar only requires 10 labor hours. Each employee works an average of 160 hours per month. Labor is paid at $10 per hour, materials cost is $40 per guitar, and overhead is $3,800. Part 2 a. - Five to six times a year, Kicker puts on tent sales in various cities throughout Oklahoma and the surrounding states. The tent sales are designed to show Kicker customers new products, engender enthusiasm about those products, and sell soon to be out-of-date products at greatly reduced prices. Each tent sale lasts one day and requires parking lot space to set up the Kicker semitrailer; a couple of show cars; a disc jockey playing music; a tent to sell Kicker merchandise, distribute brochures, and so on. Last year, the Austin, TX tent sale was held in a corner of the parking lot outside the city exhibition hall where the automotive show was in progress. Because most customers were interested more in the new model cars than in the refurbishment of their current cars, foot traffic was low. In addition, customers did not want to carry speakers and amplifiers all the way back to where they had originally parked. Total direct costs for this tent sale were $14,300.
