- you are a middle manager helping to implement a new corporate cost-cutting strategy and youre meeting skepticism, resistance and in some cases outright hostility from you subordinate. what ways might you or the company have been able to avoid this situation?Your company has just acquired FastFeet, a business that produces the best prosthetic feet on the market. They have been in business for 25 years, and have a very strong reputation for quality, engineering and customer service. The former owners of the business are very likable people, and the corporate culture reflects that – the people are loyal to them, and were willing to work very hard for them. Now that your company has taken over, the culture has become dysfunctional. You have been tasked with helping the employees of FastFeet become part of the parent company’s culture. They are resisting the change, and the production rate and quality have been slipping. You have whatever resources you need to help them overcome their resistance. What strategy are you going to use, and what are the elements of that strategy – and why?.Assume that you are a high level manager for a shoe manufacturer. You know that your firm could increase its profit margin by producing shoes in Indonesia, where you could hire women for $40 a month to assemble them. You also know, however, that a competing shoe manufacturer recently was accused by human rights advocates of engaging in exploitative labor practices because the manufacturer shipped shoes made by Indonesian women working for similarly low wages. You personally do not believe that paying $40 a month to Indonesian women is unethical, because you know that in that impoverished country, $40 a month is a better than average wage rate. Assuming that the decision is yours to make, should you have the shoes manufactured in Indonesia and make higher profits for your company? Or should you avoid the risk of negative publicity and the consequences of that publicity for the firm’s reputation and subsequent profits? Are there other alternatives?
- Hi, could you help me answer a question, it would help me with my understanding of the subject. “How are an organisation’s culture and an organisation’s strategy related? Use examples to support your arguments.Could you use some example to illustrate and support it? Would you be able to answer this question in about 1250 words, please? Thanks in advancePlease read the case and answer the questions at the end. Please respond to two of your peers. Do you agree or disagree? State University employs a large number of graduate students to work as teaching assistants. The teaching assistants often complain about their work. They feel that faculty and administrators demand too much. A common complaint is their low wages. The graduate students frequently point out that they do much the same work as faculty members, yet they receive only a very small percentage of the pay that faculty members receive. They also claim that faculty members frequently treat them unfairly. Teaching assistants are often asked to do large amounts of grading in very short time periods. Many also feel that faculty members are not very good at communicating expectations. In response to the dissatisfaction of the teaching assistants, a local union representing public workers has begun efforts to organize a labor union. Union representatives have obtained campaign card…Scenario 1: Because of your initiative to raise the concerns and fight for the rights of your workmates, you are promoted as the Chief Medical Technologist of The Country Laboratory. You are expected to demonstrate an analytical knowledge and critical understanding of different ethical perspectives, including ethical business objectives. Explain. 2) Do you agree with Peter Drucker that corporate executives should receive compensation packages no larger than a percentage of the pay of hourly workers? Explain. 3) Do you think that executives in the broader public sector, such as hospital executives, should receive such large pay packages? You have just taken over as manager of a mega-project that will create many benefits for the performing organization, but you sense a high level of resistance in various stakeholders’ right from the start. What is the most appropriate action to resolve the problem?
