Interpretation:

The plot of the wavefunction ψ=sinnx for the domain 0xπ for n=1,2, and 3 is to be drawn and thier relationship between “n” the quantum number and the number of nodes in the wavefunction is to be stated.

Concept introduction:

The wavefunction Ψ contains all the information about the state of the system. The wavefunction is the function of the coordinates of particles and time. The principal quantum number describes the orbital size, azimuthal quantum number describes the shape of the orbital and magnetic quantum number describes the direction of an orbital.

The point at which the probability of finding an electron is zero is known as the node. The two types of nodes are radial nodes and angular nodes.
