To determine:
The form of energy reserves do the resting skeletal muscle fibers contain.
Introduction:
Muscle contraction is a biological process in which the systematic contraction and relaxation of muscle takes place. The muscle fibers contract which leads to the functioning of skeletal muscles and it requires enormous amount of energy. This amount of energy is provided by the ATP (adenosine tri-phosphate). The amount of energy is required is large quantity, as about 2500 molecules of ATP are consumed per second in order for the muscle fibers to contract.
