Explanation of Solution

In cases where the material is in the liquid or plastic state in the beginning a part is created by solidification. The process of casting and molding dominate this part of material manufacturing. Casting is the process in which molten metal is made into a particular shape by flowing it into a particular mold using gravity or other forces.

The process is one of the oldest techniques and has many advantages. It is possible to form complex part geometries using the method. Also in some process there is no need for any further process as casting is the net process required. It is possible to make very large parts and also to use any kind of metal. Some casting processes can also be used for mass production and thus can be economical.
