Introduction:
Broad-spectrum antimicrobials are the drugs that can act against more than one group of bacteria. They don’t require blood test to be prescribed so they are prescribed very often, due to which the bacteria become resistant to them. They also lead to disruption to microbiome. On contrary, narrow spectrum antimicrobials are the drugs that act against only a specific group of bacteria. They require thorough blood test to be prescribed and don’t cause disruption to microbiome.
