Chapter 10, Problem 3CYU
Summary Introduction

To review:

The connective tissue which covers the fascicle.

Introduction:

Connective tissues are one of the four types of basic animal tissues like muscle tissue, nervous tissue, and epithelial tissues. Connective tissue originates from the mesoderm. These tissues give internal support and cohesion. These tissues also help in maintaining the body’s posture.

Explanation:

In each muscle, the muscle fibers are distinguished into groups. The bundle of fibers which are tied together in each group are called fascicle. It is made up of muscle cells known as myocytes. These fascicles are surrounded by a connective tissue, that is, perimysium.

Perimysium is a sheath made up of connective tissue that covers the fascicles. Perimysium also plays a significant role in transferring the lateral contractile type of movements. These are also capable of separating the muscle fascicles, which conatin approximately 150 muscle fibers.
