The stable geometry of tin(IV) hydride
Concept Introduction:
The geometry of a molecule greatly influences the stability of that molecule. The most stable geometry of a molecule is the one with less strain in the bond angles. If the bond angles are too strained, then it means the existence of too shortened bond angles or the deviation from the actual bond angles. In that case, the molecule is supposed to experience the steric hindrance from its nearby atoms or ions. Added to it, the closer distance between the surrounding atoms or ions creates a repulsive force between them by which the molecules loses its stability and becomes unstable.
