Concept Introduction:
Solubility is the property of a substance in its solid, liquid or gaseous state called the solute to dissolve in a liquid (also in solid or gas) called the solvent. A solute dissolved in a solvent gives a solution. The amount of solute dissolvable in a solvent depends on the structure, temperature, and pressure of the solute and the attractive force between the solute and solvent. Solubility of a solute is the maximum amount of solute dissolved in certain amount of solvent at a given temperature.
