Introduction:

The magnetic field that changes is generated by changing the electric field around a charge. Likewise, the electric field that changes is generated by changing the magnetic field around a charge. The electromagnetic waves are generated in an electric and magnetic field due to continuous charge.

The intensity of the signal is inversely proportional to the distance from the base unit. The farther the distance of the cordless phone from the base unit, the smaller would be the signal captured by the unit. As we move from the base unit, the signal becomes faint/weak and voice breaks quite frequently.

Hence, consequently, because the signal intensity is inversely proportional to the distance, the cordless phone stops working.
