Taxol is the chemical extracted from the bark of the tree Pacific yew and used as a drug to treat cancer as it inhibits the depolymerization of microtubules during the anaphase stage of the cell cycle. The asynchronous culture is the culture in which the cells are distributed randomly in different stages of the cell cycle. The graph showing the result of the pulse-chase experiment is shown below. The cells labeled with radioactive thymidine were tracked and are indicated by the red color line.
