Evaporation is the process in which a substance changes from liquid state to a gaseous state. It is an endothermic process.
Molecules inside a liquid have certain amount of energies due to their continuous movement which can be altered by external stimuli such as temperature.
These molecules on heating gain energy and escapes the surface of liquid to transform into vapor state.
