Difficulty to use lime based fluxed electrodes.
Flux protects molten metal weld pool from the atmosphere so that atmospheric gases should not entrap in molten metal. Flux reacts with molten metal which Improves strength of weld through chemical changes in flux.
Flux is used to improve the mechanical properties of the welds and reduces the porosity in the welds. While flux is heated, it vaporizes and form gaseous cloud larger than its original volume which restricts air present around weld zone to entrap in molten weld metal...
