Introduction:

Fungi are the group of organisms which are mainly composed of a flexible and strong nitrogenous polysaccharide cell wall called chitin. Fungi include molds, yeast and mushrooms, which differ from plants in that they do not contain chlorophyll. So, they are unable to perform photosynthesis. The scientists who worked on kingdom fungi are called mycologists and the study of fungi is termed as mycology.
