Introduction:

Living organisms are of different types. Each type differs from the rest in terms of size, shape, life cycle and life processes. Some organisms are visible to the naked eye while others require magnification to be clearly seen and studied. The organisms that require the use of a microscope to be seen are known as microorganisms. Microbiology is the field that is concerned with the study of microorganisms.
