Infectious diseases have been affecting humans since centuries. Earlier, the cause of many diseases wasn’t known but the germ theory of disease has clearly implicated microbial involvement in many diseases. Some infectious diseases, like small pox, have been wiped off the Earth but many infectious diseases continue to have a widespread mortality and morbidity.
