“atol” function:
In C++, the predefined function “atol” is used to convert a string value into a long integer value; it passes a string literal or character array as an argument and it converts the received value into a long integer value; it takes only one parameter as an argument.
- If the argument value contains nonconvertible contents combined with the integer value then the values will be ignored while converting.
- In same way, the function will return “0” when the values can’t be able to convert into double data type.
Syntax:
Syntax for “atol” function is as follows:
long int atol (const char* n);
In the above statement,
- “long int” represents the return type of the function.
- “atol” represents the name of the function.
- “const char*” represents the data type of the passing argument.
- “n” is a string variable which is required to be converted.
Example:
The example for the “atol” function is as follows:
//change the string literal to a long type value
long n = atol ("123456 hello");
In the above line, the string literal “123456 hello” is passed as an argument to “atol” and it returns the converted value that is “123456”; here the “atol” function ignores the whitespace and the nonconvertible value “hello”.

EBK STARTING OUT WITH C++
- WAP to take Input a string and an integer. You have to find whether the entered integer is equal to the string length or not. Print "Yes" or "No". In C++arrow_forwardA) Find the sum of length of all 10 strings entered by user without storing them in any data structure. Please do fast in CPP.arrow_forwardWrite an output statement that uses a string library function to find the length of a string “Hello”.arrow_forward
- Check a character is present in string or not if yes then how many times else print 0 and you have to take string and character from user.arrow_forwardThe isupper function turns all uppercase letters in a string. Is it true or false?arrow_forward(True or False) If ? is the length of str, then str.Substring(n − 2) is the string consisting of the last two characters of str.arrow_forward
- Use TEXTEQU to create a symbol named Sample for a string constant, and then use thesymbol when defining a string variable named MyString.arrow_forwardIn this program you have to take 2 string from user and then concate them in c++arrow_forwardWrite a single C++ statement that will: Print the letter “W” given the code and using the string: string greeting = “Hello World”arrow_forward
- Convert the below if-elseif code to its equivalent switch case statement: $alphabet = ‘a’; if ($alphabet == ‘a’ || $alphabet == ‘e’ || $alphabet == ‘i’ || $alphabet == ‘o’ || $alphabet == ‘u’) { print 'Alphabet is a vowel'; } else { print 'Alphabet is a consonant'; }arrow_forwardwrite code to determine if the first character in an input string str is an uppercase character.if the character is uppercase output "correct". otherwise output "problem"'.arrow_forwardWhich of the following statements is correct? Subscript notation in C# makes it possible to get at the individual characters in a string.arrow_forward
