To determine: The leading causative factor of emphysema and chronic bronchitis.
Introduction: The progressive lung disease that initially causes the shortness of breath due to the alveolar over-inflation is known as emphysema. Chronic bronchitis is a type of COPD in which the mucosa is inflamed and swollen. This inflamed bronchial tube produces a lot of mucus that thickens the bronchial wall and further obstruction.
To identify: The other factors that contribute in the development of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Introduction: A group of common chronic respiratory disorders that is characterized by progressive tissue degeneration and blockage in the airways of the lungs is known as COPD. COPD causes progressive and permanent impairment to the lungs.
