A boat is aimed at the opposite shore of a 418.51 m wide river and rowed at a speed of 7.89 m/s relative to the water. The current in the river is at a right angle to the velocity of the boat relative to the water. The current in the river is at 2.27 m/s. What is the speed of the boat relative to an observer on the shore?
Find the particular solution of the following differential equation: 100 V' = 200 - 10 V where V is the dependent and t is independent. Given that when t= 0 , V = 0. Find V at 2 seconds.
Hello!
I am given this:
"A tide pool generating stations produces electricity (power) by utilizing the natural ebb and flow of the tides. Figure 2 (see attached) shows a tidal station at high tide - note that some mass (m) of water has been elevated by the tide. This mass will flow through the generator and out to sea over the next 6 hours. The range of the tide (range = 2h) is the difference between the low water and high water marks.
Based on this information, write down an equation for the gravitational potential energy associated with the mass of water m. (Hint: some of the water is at a height of 2h above the low water mark but some is at the low water mark) Use the low water mark as your reference height.
