Different types of conflicts found in organizations
Introduction:
Conflict is a disagreement between two or parties due to a difference in the state of mind. This difference could be caused due to issues with conflict, cognition, affection or behavior.
Explanation of Solution
There are several types of conflict based on what caused the conflict in the first place. It is important to understand what type of a conflict it is before understanding how to resolve it.
Goal conflict- usually occurs when there is a difference between the types of outcome/objective that each party wants to achieve. As an example a one student might want to achieve a higher result for a group project while another student might just want to pass.
Cognitive conflict can occur when there is an inconsistency between the ideas that one party holds compared to the other party.
Affective conflict, occurs when there is an incompatibility between the feeling and emotions of one party with the other. This is when two individuals usually never get along with each other.
Behavioral conflict exists when one party behaves in a way that is not acceptable to the other. Like when they dress in a certain way or talks in a way that offends the other party.
Each of these types of conflict is usually activated by different factors, and each can lead to different responses by the group or individual
