To discuss:
Why this system is called autonomic and how it differs from the somatic motor system.
Introduction:
An autonomic nervous system is the one, which is the central neural hub of an individual. It is known as autonomic because it controls the most of the visceral organ functions and its physiology automotive, irrespective of the individual’s consciousness and desire. For example, the heartbeat, kidney functions of excretion are duly by the control of an autonomic nervous system. This autonomic nervous system originates in the brainstem with the continuation of spinal cord and its integral constituents with afferent and efferent neurons to innervate the target organ sites to send and receive the impulses and send the signal back to the brain. Without the autonomic nervous system, an individual’s physiology and its existence are merely not possible. Somatic motor nervous system is a peripheral nervous system neural hub, which is responsible for controlling the voluntary actions and controls the skeletal muscles.
