The graphs show the percentage of jobs in the U.S. labor force held by men and by women from 1970 through 2015. Exercises 109–are based on the data displayed by the graphs.
The formula
models the percentage of jobs in the U.S. labor force, p, held by men t years after 1970.
a. Use the appropriate graph at the bottom of the previous column to estimate the percentage of jobs in the U.S. labor force held by men in 2010. Give your estimation to nearest percent.
b. Use the mathematical model to determine the percentage of jobs in the U.S. labor force held by men in 2010. Round to the nearest tenth of a percent.
c. According to the formula, when will 49% of jobs in the U.S. labor force be held by men? Round to the nearest year.

- The bar graph shows that life expectancy, the number of years newborns are expected to live, in a particular region has increased dramatically since ancient times. The two-way table below records all 2,050 trees in the plot by species and life stage. Sapling trees (young trees shorter than 1.3 meters) are indicative of the future of the forest. Test the relationship between species and life stage. - When calculating the Chi-square statistic, each cell of the table makes a contribution to the total. What contribution do western red cedar saplings make? (The sum of all contributions resulted in a Chi-square statistic of 420.21) Can you explain this with table of expected counts like dead, live, sapling of western red cedar/douglas fir/western hemlock?arrow_forwardHelp please :)arrow_forward

- Empathy means being able to understand what others feel. To see how the brain expresses empathy, researchers recruited 16 couples in their midtwenties who were married or had been dating for at least two years. They zapped the man's hand with an electrode while the woman watched, and measured the activity in several parts of the woman's brain that would respond to her own pain. Brain activity was recorded as a fraction of the activity observed when the woman herself was zapped with the electrode. The women also completed a psychological test that measures empathy. 8 9 10 Subject Empathy Score Brain Activity -0.102 0.396 0.0120.38 0.035 0.406 0.102 0.517 0.14 0.744 0.246 0.575 0.216 0.719 0.368 0.775 2 3 4 6 11 12 13 14 15 16 43 47 45 55 56 61 58 54 40 52 55 60 10 67 31 100 1.2 sub ject 2 . 8,1 F20 126 -8,4 Given that the equation for the regression line is y 0.00754r – 0.04734, what is the residual for subject 2?
