Federal powers include tax collection and levying, coining money and controlling its value, and, among others, building post offices. Such enumerated powers are outlined in the link below that is, powers unique to the federal government. Both the federal and state governments share these powers. Today, about 2.7 million people work for the federal government alone and over 22 million civilian workers along with the local and state government. The total number of government workers has increased because the number of government functions has risen and the size of the population has also grown.Thus, all levels of government use tax revenue to provide essential goods and services. Government plays a major role in many aspects of our lives.
