Introduction: The adult nutrient recommendations for macronutrient intake are presented in terms of percentage ranges. Each nutrient has a range of percentages attached to it meaning the amounts that are effective in the body. The acceptable macronutrient distributions ranges in adults for fat are 20-30 percent of calories, protiens are 10-35 percent of calories, and for carbohydrates are 45-65 percent of calories.


A typical male consumes more saturated fat, cholesterol, sugar, carbohydrate, and sodium. They have shortfall of nutrients like vitamin A, C, E, D and K, fiber, choline, iron, calcium, potassium and magnisium.

On the other hand, a typical female consumes excess of total sugar, sodium, and saturated fat. Females take low intakes of  calcium, magnesium, iron, potassium, fiber, and vitamin A, E, and D...
