The Eco-Marathon is an annual competition sponsored by Shell Oil, in which participants build special vehicles to achieve the highest possible fuel efficiency. The Eco-Marathon is held around the world with events in the United Kingdom, Finland, France, Holland, Japan, and the United States.
A world record was set in the Eco-Marathon by a French team in 2003 called Microjoule with a performance of 10,705 miles per gallon. The Microjoule runs on ethanol. Write a MAT LAB program to determine how far the Microjoule will travel in kilometers given a user-specified amount of ethanol, provided in units of grams. For your test case, you may assume that the user provides 100 grams of ethanol. The specific gravity of ethanol is 0. 789.

THINKING LIKE AN ENGINEER W/ACCESS
- Hi, I need help with the first part of the problem below because I'm very confused about how P1 and P2 should be calculated. If you look at my notes to solve the problem there is already a formula in place as I always thought the Patm should also be multiplied by the Area in the numerator, but it's not if I look at this specific tutorial solution given by my course but it's not explained why. I have done a while ago a very similar problem with using that formula in my notes and it gave me the right results, but it's not working for this one. Could you please help me understand why as I have a test coming soon? Figure Q3 (see image attached) shows a cylinder and pistonenclosing air, the movement of the pistonbeing restrained by a compression spring ofstiffness 20 kN/m. The air is heated andexpands, the piston moving 0.3 m. Thefree length of the spring is 1.0 m.Calculate the work done by the air duringthe process. If the pressure , volume and internal energyof air are related by the…arrow_forward1. HI CAN YOU HELP ME WITH MY ASSIGNMENT. PLEASE WRITE IT PROPERLY, DONT WRITE IT. Faculty members and staff from ABC University had a meeting on how they will conduct the virtual flag ceremony every Monday. There are reported 12 faculty members, 3 office staff, 4 heads from the different courses and 1 student leader attended a secret meeting in a room which is 15 meters wide by 10.5 meters long and a ceiling of 3.87meters. The room is completely sealed off and insulated. Each persons gives off 150kcal per hour of heat and occupies a volume of 0.2 cubic meter. The room has an initial pressure of 14.696psi and temperature of 522.27 Rankine. • Calculate the room temperature after 15.5 minutes In Celcius • What is the mass of air in kilogramsarrow_forwardHi. I am trying to practice this problem using a checker online, but everytime I recalculate my answer it always says it's incorrect. So far I have calculated and tried to input the following values: 0.0342 m3/s, 0.0358 m3/s, 0.04277 m3/s, and 0.0555 m3/s but it always keeps saying they are incorrect. Please help show me the correct steps on how to get the correct answer as I am trying to learn this process. Thank you!arrow_forward
- after solving, pls explain why u got the answer really need an explanation thank u so much pls explain in sentences. will ratearrow_forwardCompletely solve and box the final answer. Write legibly 7. Calculate the specific heat of a substance in BTU/lbm-ºR if 17.8 pounds can raise its temperature from 71.4 ºF to 118.5ºF in a period of 1.12 minutes. The computed amount of heat applied to it is 4.79 HP.arrow_forwardHi. I am trying to practice this problem using a checker online, but everytime I recalculate my answer it always says it's incorrect. So far I have calculated and tried to input the following values: 1 hp, 1.01 hp, and 0.8 hp but it always keeps saying they are incorrect. Am I missing a sign change? (Should the answer be negative?) Or am I solving this incorrectly and getting the wrong value each time? Please help show me the correct steps on how to get the correct answer as I am trying to learn this process. Thank you!arrow_forward
- please make your handwriting clear and please please please make sure your answer is correct and solve it step by step and don't forget FBD and everything relation on the question Please dont take the answer from anywepsite thank you very mucharrow_forwardPlease include a kinamatic diagram (for velocity) Please DO NOT solve this using velocity analysis (cartesian vector analysis). I would like it to be solved using scalar method. We dont use 3D in this course. We only use scalar analysis for the relative velocity equation as requested in the question (writing the x and y components of the equation and solving the equations for the unknowns). Below I have attached a sample question with solution in order to get an idea on how to use the scalar method to solve my question. I would like question this to be solved in a similar way. Thank you for your understanding. If you can solve it as soon as possible that would be great and I will give you a thumps up and positive feedback :)arrow_forwardPLEASE SHOW SOLUION STEP BY STEP WITH UNITS.
