Cnidarians are radially symmetrical aquatic animals. They are divided into two types, immotile polyps, and free-swimming medusa. These organisms are heterotrophs and possess stinging cells. They have their name Cnidaria from a Greek word ‘nettle’ which is a stinging plant.
