The name enzymes are given to the molecules that act as biological catalysts. Generally, most of the enzymes are proteins. Enzymes can make those reactions complete in an instant which otherwise takes days or weeks or extremely high temperature to complete.

One of the examples of enzymes is pepsin. Pepsin enzyme is one of the major digestive enzymes that produce in the stomach. Its function is to break the large protein into the smaller peptides.
