Interpretation Introduction

Interpretation:

The length of the twenty amino acids long $\text{α-helical}$ polypeptide has to be calculated. Also, the length of a region of the antiparallel $\text{β-pleated}$ sheet of forty amino acid long has to be calculated.

Concept Introduction:

The repeated distance of a $\text{α-helix}$ is $5.4\stackrel{\text{o}}{\text{A}}$, this is also known as pitch of the $\text{α-helix}$. Also, the number of amino acids per turn in $\text{α-helix}$ is 3.6.

The distance between two adjacent amino acid in $\text{β-pleated}$ sheet is $3.5\stackrel{\text{o}}{\text{A}}$.
