Interpretation: We are given three amino acids histidine, phenylalanine and serine and so we have to decide whether these amino acids will be found in the hydrophobic or hydrophilic region of the protein. Also if these amino acids can form hydrogen bonds.
Concept Introduction:
Amino acids that have polar functional group will be found in the hydrophilic part of a protein, and amino acids that have polar functional group will be found in the hydrophilic part of a protein.
Also if the amino acids have polar side chains with polar functional groups that contain atoms such as H bond to other highly electronegative elements such as O, N and F then it can form H bonds.
To Determine: If the given amino acids will be found in the hydrophobic or hydrophilic region of the protein. Also if any of the given acid will participate in hydrogen bonding.
