There are three different types of blood cells present in blood: Erythrocytes, leukocytes and platelets. Every group of cell performs different functions. Red blood cells or erythrocytes mainly help in the transport of nutrients and gaseous exchange along the body. White blood cells provide defense to the body against the various foreign substance. Platelets help in the clotting of damaged blood vessels to prevent excessive blood flow.
