Introduction:

Thermococcales is the major group of thermophiles. They include two genera, Thermococcus and Pyrococcus. They are found near solfataras under the ocean and gases emitting volcanic vents. Pyrococcusis thermostable extremophile and can tolerate up to 105°C (degree Celsius). Thermoplasmatales include Thermoplasmaacidophilum and Ferroplasmaacidarmanus. T. acidophilumhas acquired a gene from Sulfobolous through horizontal gene transfer.
