Question
Chapter 19.8, Problem 1CR
Summary Introduction
The study of molecular microbial communities is known as environmental genomics or metagenomics. Earlier, microbial community analyses target to a single gene diversity in an environmental sample. Currently, the environmental genomics are used to target all genes in the microbial community. Metagenomics is used to study all genes (functional capacity) in the microbial community. Metatranscriptomics and metaproteiomics target RNAs (gene expression) and proteins in the microbial community, respectively.
