A commercial 60-Hz, 440/110-volt, 50-kVA power transformer has 600 turns on its high-voltage side.
Calculate:
(a) number of turns on its low-voltage (L.V.) side.
(b) a, when used as a step-down transformer and as a step-up transformer
(c) volts/turn ratio of low-voltage (L.V.) side
Solve the problem and illustrate the circuit. Answers must be in 3 decimal places
A 480/220 V, 60-hz single phase transformer has a maximum flux density of 1 Tesla. If the voltage/induced per turn is 1.5 Volts, determine the cross-sectional area in the core in cm and the primary and secondary number of turns.
When conducting no-load test on a given single-phase transformer, the following test data were obtained :
Primary voltage : 210 V ; Secondary voltage : 115 V ;
Primary current : 0.5 A ; Power input : 40 W.
Find (i) The turns ratio (ii) the magnetizing current of no-load current (iii) Core loss current (iv) the iron loss.
