Interpretation:
In the preparation of dichlorodimethylsilane, whether the carbon atom in chloromethane is oxidized, reduced, or neither, is to be determined; and the hybridization state and the principal quantum numbers of the hybridized s and p orbitals of silicon in dichlorodimethylsilane are to be determined.
