The Vmaxof muscle phosphorylase is considerably greater than Vmaxof liver phosphorylase and is good in physiological sense should be determined.
Concept introduction:
Phosphorylation at each of the Ser14 residue activates the glycogen phosphorylase in the muscles of the vertebrates. The glycogen phosphorylase is inactivated by the action of a particular phosphatase which removes phosphate groups from the Ser14 residue and is regulated by the hormones.
