A leaf is an important part of a plant as it helps the plant by making food in the form of a carbohydrate. It is capable of making food because it contains a green photosynthetic pigment called chlorophyll that is stored in grana part of a leaf. The process of making food with the help of chlorophyll in the presence of sunlight is called photosynthesis.
