Interpretation:

The essential amino acids for a phenylketonuric adult are to be listed. These amino acids are to be compared with the requirements for a normal adult.

Amino acids that cannot be synthesized by the body are essential ones.

Amino acids cannot be stored, except, proteins, and dietary sources of amino acids, which are essentially needed at regular intervals.
