The procedure by which the level of glutamic acid affects the urea cycle is to be explained.

Concept introduction:

In nitrogen metabolism, the central pathway is the urea cycle.

In the urea cycle, nitrogen, which gets released by the catabolism of amino acids, is converted to urea.

This cycle also plays an important role in the biosynthesis of proteins.
