Interpretation:
The reason as to why it is important that the liver store glycogen is to be stated. The way by which the storage of glycogen in the liver helps to control the blood sugar levels is to be explained.
Concept introduction:
The process by which glycogen is synthesized from glucose is called glycogenesis. The conversion of glucose into glycogen occurs when glucose is consumed in excess amounts higher than the body required at that moment. The process of glycogenesis takes place in the cells of the liver and muscles. At the end of this process, the units of glucose are bonded to the growing chain of glycogen.
